IP-PAD Conference In Amsterdam

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!
On November 5th, 6th and 7th we hosted the IP-PAD Doctoral Network consortium meeting at the University of Amsterdam — three days packed with learning, reflection, and exchange. Here are a few highlights:

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀:
🧠 Workshops on data visualization by our own Olaf Borghi & Jakob Kasper
🎥 Hands-on media training in front of the camera with Karen Kraal & Anita Janssen

𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁:,
💬 A productive Supervisory Board meeting and one-on-one sessions between PhD students and PIs (Kaat Smets, Sylvia Kritzinger, Małgorzata Kossowska, Gijs Schumacher, Manos Tsakiris,& Szymon Wychary) across the network.

𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝗣-𝗣𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
We welcomed over 40 attendees. Some highlights:
✨ A keynote by Eveline Crone (Erasmus University) on adolescents as change makers in the 21st century
✨ A keynote by Ellen Claes (KU Leuven) on adolescents’ political engagement

This was followed by a dynamic round table where practitioners and scientists discussed pressing challenges around adolescents and politics — thanks to Nadia Maas (Eenvandaag Youth Panel), Janna Nieuwenhuijzen (DPG media), Meike Nijwening (National Youth Council), Hannes van de Ven (Nederlands Youth Institute), Lysanne te Brinke (Erasmus), Ili Ma (Leiden) & Wouter van den Bos (UvA) for sharing your insights with us!

Finally, we enjoyed inspiring poster presentations by our IP-PAD PhD students as well as talented researchers from other universities such as Judith van de Wetering, Linde Stals, Nikki Dekker, Kevin Oostrum, Giovanni D’Agostino, Michelle Rosmalen, Carmen van Alebeek, Daniel Sensen, Anne Snijders, Kyriaki Polykarpou, & Peter Emck.
