I am a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with RPA Polarisation. After obtaining my BSc in Communication Science and a Research Master’s in Political Communication & Journalism, both at the UvA, I began my PhD on polarization among Dutch youth aged 12 to 18. The interdisciplinary nature of the project allows me to integrate insights from Communication Science, Psychology, and Educational Sciences to better understand the dynamics of youth polarization. So far, my research has focused on demographic and opinion diversity in classrooms, the ideological gender gap between boys and girls, and, most recently, young people’s views on LGBTQ+ individuals and the relationship between their opinions and social media content consumption.
